Start-up fund for Fatima: reopening a roadside café after a long illness and repossession

Fatima has run a roadside café for twelve years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

Ikeja
For twelve years I have run a roadside café in Ikeja. In July, a long illness and repossession took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $400 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $70 • Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $280 • Shop repairs and licensing: $50 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
