Khulna
For nine years I have run a laundry service in Khulna. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $300 goes: • Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $185 • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $90 • Shop repairs and licensing: $25 If you're reading this, thank you. - Farhana

Updates from Farhana

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($101 in total) the plan for shop repairs and licensing is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 25% now ($76). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($26 in total) I made the first payment toward shop repairs and licensing. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Take care.
