Start-up fund for Elena: reopening a laundry service after the demolition of the market
A laundry service in Alcalá de Henares needs help replacing two washing machines and a dryer after the demolition of the market.

For fifteen years I have run a laundry service in Alcalá de Henares. In July, the demolition of the market took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $220
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $1,750
• Shop repairs and licensing: $330
With deep gratitude,
Elena

Sending love, Elena. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Sending good thoughts, Elena. Your post was clear and honest
Hope the shop reopens soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.
Rooting for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Alcalá de Henares
Keep going, Elena. Hope you get there.
