Start-up fund for Dylan: reopening a roadside café after floodwater
Dylan lost an espresso machine and grinder to floodwater and needs $2,050 to reopen a roadside café and support the family.

For fifteen years I have run a roadside café in Aurora. In July, floodwater took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $380
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $750
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $920
Thank you for reading my story.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dylan
Shop repairs and licensing is $380 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
Thanks for sharing this, Dylan. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Kakamega!
Thinking of you and your family, Dylan. Hope the shop reopens soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
Sending love, Dylan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. Love from Aurangabad
Rooting for you, Dylan. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Greetings from Lahore
So sorry you're going through this, Dylan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Kazan but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Kazan.
Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Thinking of you and your family, Dylan. I hope things turn around soon.
Small businesses are the heart of Aurora. Hope you're open again soon. Thinking of Aurora.
