Start-up fund for Dumisani: reopening a bicycle repair shop after a long illness and repossession
Dumisani lost a full set of tools to a long illness and repossession and needs $1,200 to reopen a bicycle repair shop and support the family.

For three years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Soweto. In October, a long illness and repossession took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Replacing a full set of tools: $700
• Initial stock: spare parts: $195
• Shop repairs and licensing: $125
• Working capital for the first month: $180
With deep gratitude,
Dumisani
