Start-up fund for Deepa: reopening a sewing studio after a fire in the building
Deepa lost a cutting table and overlocker to a fire in the building and needs $650 to reopen a sewing studio and support the family.

For fifteen years I have run a sewing studio in Gaya. In June, a fire in the building took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $650 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $390
• Initial stock: fabric: $115
• Shop repairs and licensing: $90
• Working capital for the first month: $55
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope it all works out. Hope you make a strong comeback. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.
I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Kozhikode.
