Start-up fund for Declan: reopening a laundry service after a storm that collapsed the roof
Declan has run a laundry service for fifteen years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $3,500 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a laundry service in Leeds. In July, a storm that collapsed the roof took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $670
• Shop repairs and licensing: $510
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $2,320
Thank you for reading my story.
Updates from Declan
Thank you all. We're at 66% now ($2,300). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward shop repairs and licensing.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. initial stock: detergent and packaging comes first ($670) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.
