Start-up fund for Barry: reopening a roadside café after a break-in
A roadside café in Dublin needs help replacing an espresso machine and grinder after a break-in.

For fifteen years I have run a roadside café in Dublin. In April, a break-in took an espresso machine and grinder. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $340
• Replacing an espresso machine and grinder: $1,400
• Initial stock: coffee and pastries: $560
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Barry
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. working capital for the first month is the biggest at $340. Good question.
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
looking forward to the next update. After 6 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Sending good thoughts, Barry. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Barry. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Philadelphia donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Agra.
