Start-up fund for Ashwin: reopening a fish stall after a storm that collapsed the roof
Ashwin lost a freezer and scales to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $700 to reopen a fish stall and support the family.

For four years I have run a fish stall in Udaipur. In March, a storm that collapsed the roof took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $700 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $450
• Initial stock: the first catch: $65
• Shop repairs and licensing: $90
• Working capital for the first month: $95
Glad we found this place.

Hope it all works out, Ashwin. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Embakasi.
Stay strong, Ashwin. Your post was clear and honest. After 10 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
