Start-up fund for Anyango: reopening a fish stall after a long illness and repossession
A fish stall in Kasarani needs help replacing a freezer and scales after a long illness and repossession.
🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya640 views
For nine years I have run a fish stall in Kasarani. In June, a long illness and repossession took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $200
• Initial stock: the first catch: $65
• Shop repairs and licensing: $55
• Working capital for the first month: $130
Every share and every dollar helps.
