Start-up fund for Akash: reopening a neighborhood bakery after a long illness and repossession
Akash has run a neighborhood bakery for twelve years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $3,400 will put it back on its feet.

For twelve years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Rockford. In August, a long illness and repossession took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $2,150
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $350
• Shop repairs and licensing: $380
• Working capital for the first month: $520
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Los Angeles so I could bring a meal. Love from Berlin
