Xuân was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November. The oncology team at Hải Phòng University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Xuân is 48, worked as a nurse until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hải Phòng University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,200 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $580 • Household costs while unable to work: $370 • Transport to Hải Phòng University Hospital: $85 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $165 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
