Standing with Ximena: a rare sarcoma treatment costs

Ximena was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at San Jose Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Ximena is 49, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
