Standing with Wayne: prostate cancer treatment costs
Wayne is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Wayne was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Sandton Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Wayne is 44, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Sandton Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,100
• Scans and lab work: $150
• Household costs while unable to work: $200
