Standing with Walker: a rare sarcoma treatment costs
Supporting Walker through a rare sarcoma: medication, transport to Leeds Regional Medical Center, and living costs while He cannot work.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom779 views
Walker was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in February. The oncology team at Leeds Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Walker is 28, worked as a construction supervisor until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Leeds Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $7,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,100
• Scans and lab work: $1,300
• Transport to Leeds Regional Medical Center: $680
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $680
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,090
With deep gratitude,
Shawn

what exactly is the $7,850 for?
Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $3,100. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
Sending strength. Looking forward to the next update. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
