Standing with Victoria: non-Hodgkin lymphoma treatment costs
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Accra Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

In November I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. My oncology team at Accra Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in March. I was told to expect about 6 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 53, I worked as a bakery worker until November, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Accra Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $780
• Scans and lab work: $95
• Transport to Accra Cancer Centre: $165
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $115
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
Thank you for reading my story.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I hope February is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
hang in there, Victoria. Hope the doctors have good news. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Victoria!
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the biggest at $780. Let me know if you want more detail.
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.
Stay strong, Victoria. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless
Wishing Victoria a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Take care.
