Verónica was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in May. The oncology team at the Buenos Aires Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Verónica is 29, worked as a taxi driver until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Buenos Aires Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,200
• Scans and lab work: $330
• Transport to the Buenos Aires Oncology Institute: $240
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $250
• Household costs while unable to work: $480
