Standing with Tomoya: stomach cancer treatment costs
Supporting Tomoya through stomach cancer: medication, transport to Kitakyushu University Hospital, and living costs while He can't work.
🇯🇵 Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan352 views
Tomoya was diagnosed with stomach cancer in June. The oncology team at Kitakyushu University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Tomoya is 36, worked as a primary school teacher until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kitakyushu University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,750 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,550
• Scans and lab work: $630
• Transport to Kitakyushu University Hospital: $690
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $700
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,180
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
