Standing with Tim: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Tim is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Tim was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at The Hague University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Tim is 53, worked as a construction supervisor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to The Hague University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $4,850 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,800
• Transport to The Hague University Hospital: $940
• Scans and lab work: $1,650
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $460
