In August I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Aurangabad Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 58, I worked as a construction supervisor until August, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Aurangabad Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,550 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100 • Transport to Aurangabad Regional Medical Center: $165 • Scans and lab work: $225 I hope life is good to you. - Sumon
