Siliguri
Sumaiya was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September. The oncology team at the Siliguri Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Sumaiya is 37, worked as a bakery worker until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Siliguri Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,900 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200 • Scans and lab work: $300 • Transport to the Siliguri Oncology Institute: $85 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105 • Household costs while unable to work: $210 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
