Standing with Subramanian: a rare sarcoma treatment costs
Subramanian is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Subramanian was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in July. The oncology team at Tiruchirappalli Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Subramanian is 38, worked as a bus conductor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tiruchirappalli Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $680
• Household costs while unable to work: $290
• Transport to Tiruchirappalli Cancer Centre: $70
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
