Standing with Sophie: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Supporting Sophie through acute lymphoblastic leukemia: medication, transport to Fresno Regional Medical Center, and living costs while She can't work.
🇺🇸 Fresno, California, United States1,005 views
In January I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. My oncology team at Fresno Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in April. I was told to expect about 4 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 33, I worked as a primary school teacher until January, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Fresno Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $12,150 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $770
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $9,000
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,500
• Scans and lab work: $880
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
