Silvia was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in September. The oncology team at Monterrey Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Silvia is 47, worked as a tailor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Monterrey Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $3,550 goes: • Transport to Monterrey Cancer Centre: $290 • Scans and lab work: $360 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,350 • Household costs while unable to work: $550 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Silvia.

    • Pablo ZamoraOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. transport to Monterrey Cancer Centre comes first ($290) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.

  • Good luck. Get well soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Monterrey.

    • Chloe MolinaQuestion

      How is Silvia doing now?

      • Thinking of you, Pablo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. God bless

        • Hang in there, Pablo. Wishing Silvia a smooth procedure and a full recovery. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

          • Hope the doctors have good news. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

            • Sending good thoughts, Pablo. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
