Shahana was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at the Khulna Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Shahana is 43, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Khulna Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,600 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Scans and lab work: $180 • Transport to the Khulna Oncology Institute: $95 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100 • Household costs while unable to work: $175 Thank you so much.
