Roman was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Brooklyn Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Roman is 51, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Brooklyn Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $10,200 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520 • Scans and lab work: $1,200 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,480 Thanks for being kind about this. - Brielle

Updates from Brielle

  1. Quick update: $3,031 raised so far (30%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($2,058 in total) I made the first payment toward nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
