Robert was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in April. The oncology team at Phoenix Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Robert is 33, worked as a nurse until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Phoenix Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,950 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,600
• Scans and lab work: $990
• Transport to Phoenix Cancer Centre: $810
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $740
• Household costs while unable to work: $810

best of luck, Kinsley. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
