Standing with Renata: prostate cancer treatment costs
Supporting Renata through prostate cancer: medication, transport to Sacramento University Hospital, and living costs while She can't work.
🇺🇸 Sacramento, California, United States839 views
Renata was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Sacramento University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Renata is 28, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Sacramento University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $11,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750
• Scans and lab work: $1,100
• Transport to Sacramento University Hospital: $1,250
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,630
With deep gratitude,
Carolina
