Standing with Regina: thyroid cancer treatment costs

Regina was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Santos Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Regina is 40, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Santos Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $730
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,350
• Transport to Santos Cancer Centre: $320
