Standing with Rafael: cervical cancer treatment costs
4 rounds of treatment are planned at the Juiz de Fora Oncology Institute; we are asking for help with the costs insurance does not cover.

Rafael was diagnosed with cervical cancer in February. The oncology team at the Juiz de Fora Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Rafael is 33, worked as a nurse until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Juiz de Fora Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $300
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,900
• Transport to the Juiz de Fora Oncology Institute: $155
• Household costs while unable to work: $545
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you, Bruna. Wishing Rafael a smooth procedure and a full recovery. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Rawalpindi.
