Standing with Prasad: a rare sarcoma treatment costs
Prasad is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world470 views
Prasad was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in October. The oncology team at Mysuru University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in January. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Prasad is 29, worked as a construction supervisor until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mysuru University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Transport to Mysuru University Hospital: $170
• Household costs while unable to work: $230
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100
Every share and every dollar helps.

Good luck. Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Birmingham but we're thinking of you. Love from Birmingham
Thinking of you and your family, Purvi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Jimma.
