Standing with Prakash: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Prakash is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In September I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. My oncology team at Laval University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in December. I was told to expect about 8 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 24, I worked as a shop owner until September, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Laval University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $560
• Scans and lab work: $660
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,130
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

You're not alone, Prakash. I hope things turn around soon. Blessings
Thinking of you, Prakash. Get well soon. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of Laval.
