Pooja was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December. The oncology team at Dharan University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Pooja is 26, worked as a bank teller until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dharan University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $750 goes: • Transport to Dharan University Hospital: $80 • Household costs while unable to work: $170 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $430 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
