Standing with Philippe: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Philippe is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Philippe was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at the Paris Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Philippe is 27, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Paris Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,900 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $960
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,750
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,190
