Peace was diagnosed with colon cancer in April. The oncology team at Lagos Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Peace is 42, worked as a hairdresser until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $650 goes: • Scans and lab work: $200 • Household costs while unable to work: $220 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $80 • Transport to Lagos Cancer Centre: $150 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Ifeanyi

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 24 people at work.

      • Keep going, Ifeanyi. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Laredo

        • Praying for you, Ifeanyi. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Muzaffarpur.
