Standing with Paul: a rare sarcoma treatment costs
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Lagos Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇳🇬 Nigeria415 views
Paul was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in March. The oncology team at Lagos Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Paul is 40, worked as a hairdresser until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Transport to Lagos Cancer Centre: $170
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $700
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $45
• Scans and lab work: $235
Every share and every dollar helps.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Paul.
Sending strength. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
hope things get better soon, Adaeze. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Sent it to 6 people at work
Stay strong, Adaeze. Hope the doctors have good news
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Bristol
