Standing with Olivia: stomach cancer treatment costs
Olivia is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Olivia was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at Auckland Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Olivia is 52, worked as a bank teller until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Auckland Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,550 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,000
• Transport to Auckland Regional Medical Center: $580
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $290
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,430
