Standing with Olivia: colon cancer treatment costs
10 rounds of treatment are planned at Reading University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 United States992 views
Olivia was diagnosed with colon cancer in October. The oncology team at Reading University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Olivia is 53, worked as a shop owner until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Reading University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $12,300 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,450
• Transport to Reading University Hospital: $960
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $650
• Household costs while unable to work: $990
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Olivia
It's all in the list in the story. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the big one at $8,250, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
Hope things get better soon. Wishing Olivia a smooth procedure and a full recovery. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Hyderabad
How is Olivia doing now?
Praying for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more!
Best of luck, Travis. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Greetings from Udaipur.
Sending good thoughts. I hope things turn around soon. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
