Standing with Michelle: a rare sarcoma treatment costs
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Raleigh Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 United States674 views
Michelle was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in July. The oncology team at Raleigh Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Michelle is 49, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Raleigh Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $5,150 goes:
• Transport to Raleigh Cancer Centre: $900
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $660
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,850
• Scans and lab work: $1,740
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
