Standing with Maxime: thyroid cancer treatment costs
12 rounds of treatment are planned at the Saint-Étienne Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Maxime was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November. The oncology team at the Saint-Étienne Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in January. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Maxime is 45, worked as a construction supervisor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Saint-Étienne Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,650 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,550
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $1,300
• Transport to the Saint-Étienne Oncology Institute: $600
