Standing with Mason: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs
Mason is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇺🇸 California, United States878 views
Mason was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in March. The oncology team at San Diego University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Mason is 35, worked as a primary school teacher until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,000
• Scans and lab work: $580
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $320
Thanks for reading all this.
