Standing with Mai: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
10 rounds of treatment are planned at Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇻🇳 Vietnam980 views
Mai was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March. The oncology team at Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Mai is 32, worked as a bus conductor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Transport to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital: $75
• Household costs while unable to work: $280
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $980
• Scans and lab work: $115
Glad we found this place.

Is transport to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital the biggest cost or is there more coming?
