Lydia was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July. The oncology team at Chandler University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Lydia is 28, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Chandler University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $14,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,750
• Transport to Chandler University Hospital: $950
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $830
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,420
