Lucky was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October. The oncology team at Onitsha Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Lucky is 43, worked as a bakery worker until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Onitsha Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $350 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $165
• Transport to Onitsha Regional Medical Center: $65
• Household costs while unable to work: $120
