In May I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at the Łódź Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 45, I worked as a tailor until May, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Łódź Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,650 goes: • Scans and lab work: $390 • Transport to the Łódź Oncology Institute: $390 • Household costs while unable to work: $870 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Lena
