Standing with Lata: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Lata is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Lata was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at Aurangabad Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Lata is 42, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Aurangabad Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $600 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $180
• Transport to Aurangabad Regional Medical Center: $160
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
