Standing with Kshitija: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Kshitija is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Kshitija was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Mumbai Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Kshitija is 48, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mumbai Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $550
• Scans and lab work: $175
• Transport to Mumbai Cancer Centre: $105
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60
• Household costs while unable to work: $360
