Standing with Kiran: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Kiran is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan900 views
Kiran was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at the Lahore Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Kiran is 47, worked as a bank teller until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Lahore Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $630
• Scans and lab work: $165
• Transport to the Lahore Oncology Institute: $110
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $35
• Household costs while unable to work: $210
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
