Standing with Kayode: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Kayode is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria923 views
Kayode was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April. The oncology team at Ikeja Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Kayode is 49, worked as a taxi driver until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ikeja Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $900 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $510
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $45
• Transport to Ikeja Cancer Centre: $100
• Scans and lab work: $245
I hope life is good to you.
