Standing with Kannan: colon cancer treatment costs
Kannan is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇮🇳 Uttar Pradesh, India1,179 views
Kannan was diagnosed with colon cancer in June. The oncology team at Prayagraj Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Kannan is 32, worked as a hairdresser until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Prayagraj Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $580
• Scans and lab work: $105
• Household costs while unable to work: $265

Sending strength, Bhavani. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Móstoles but we're thinking of you. All the best.
Hang in there, Bhavani. I hope things turn around soon. Blessings
So sorry you're going through this, Bhavani. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 30 people at work. Thinking of Prayagraj
Take care, Bhavani. This could happen to any of us. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best!
Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Brooklyn
